This course of lectures of Strength of Materials (general part) is compiled based on those lectures, which the author has been reading for a long time at the Georgian Technical University, and in recent years, taking into account the specifics of distance learning.
It covers most of the issues provided by the program considered for thirty hours. In particular, the introduction contains general concepts about the purpose of the object of Strength of Materials. In addition, in the twelve lectures, tension-compression of the rod, analysis of the stress state of the material, shear, torsion and bending, also stability of the compressed rods are given.
