The Problems of Urban Environment Sustainable
Development in Georgia

In the context of modern intensive urbanization, the study of the development and management of urban processes is becoming increasingly important for the economic and political life of countries. The new educational Doctoral Program - „Sustainable Urbanism“ was developed within the RETHINKe Tempus project by the Faculty of Architecture, Urban Planning and Design. The program relies on a special course of urban ecology, urban housing studies, etc. The importance of geographical information systems in urban science is presented in the program as well.
The textbook is a set of articles and documents that reflect the current problems of urban development in the world and in Georgia in a whole, including methodological and conceptual approaches.
The parts of the textbook were developed by:

The textbook was structured and prepared byAssociate Professor of the Georgian Technical University Dr. Nino Chachava, Professor of the Georgian Technical University Dr. Nino Pailodze.
The book is dedicated for the students of Architectural, Urban Planning, Design schools and other specialists interested with the problems of Urban Development.
